OUR VISION
REACH. GO. SERVE. GROW.
At Lighthouse Tabernacle, we pursue the Glory of God through worship, ministry, giving and education. We feel the obligation to reach into a hopeless world with a message of hope in Jesus. We must follow his commandment to go into all the world. We strive to serve Jesus Christ by serving others. We work to continually grow in our faith and help others do the same.
OUR STORY
Lighthouse Tabernacle, a congregation in Sulphur, Louisiana, offers members - and visitors - a chance to grow in their walk with God, and love for Him and one another. Our roots in the Sulphur community go back as far as the 1940s. The Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse, later named Lighthouse Tabernacle, was chartered in 1954 and was located on Bayou D’Inde Rd. Lighthouse Tabernacle celebrates a legacy of prayer, healing, and changed lives. We pattern ourselves after the New Testament church described in the Book of Acts in doctrine, worship, and lifestyle. Thus, we allow His Spirit to reign supreme in our services.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the Bible to be the infallible and immutable Word of God. It is perfect in doctrine and pure in content. We believe in the Oneness of the Godhead, Deut. 6:4. We believe that God manifested Himself as Father in creation, Son in redemption and Holy Spirit in regeneration. We believe that in order for a person to see and enter into the kingdom of God they must be born again, John 3:3-5. This new birth experience was taught by the New Testament Church in Acts 2:38. We believe in repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus and the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking with tongues, Acts 2:4, 10:46, and 19:6. We further believe that after conversion one must continue to live for God in holiness without which no man shall see the Lord, Heb. 12:14. We believe in a literal heaven, Rev. 21:1, which will be the eternal abode for all the redeemed. We believe in a literal hell, Luke 16:19-31, Rev. 14:11, Matt. 25:41, where the unbelieving and disobedient will spend eternity. Come walk with us in the beauty of holiness and learn of the new birth experience as Jesus and the Apostles taught. These are the precepts which God will bless and which brings men to full and complete salvation.
